(Last update : end of December 2023)
Up to now, I have been in 41 deserts.
My top 5
Badain Jaran (China) : I trekked thru this superb desert with some of the tallest dunes in the world & spring-fed lakes that lie between dunes (the 'mysterious lakes').
Hoggar & Tassili N'Ajjer (Algeria) : a very scenic region of the Sahara mixing sand dunes with rock formations & displaying rock paintings.
Ennedi (Chad) : a region of Sahara with lakes and gueltas where hundreds of camels are seen.
Akakous (Libya) : a region of the Sahara with small lakes, sand dunes with good rock formations & displaying rock paintings.
White Desert (Egypt) : excellent trek thru this desert with massive chalk rock formations colored from snow-white to cream.
