Regions, World Heritage Sites & Series :
United Nations Countries :
Up to now, I have visited 191 UN Member Countries (UN has 193 Member Countries ; plus 4 Non-member Countries : Palestine, Vatican, Niue & Cook Islands). I have still 2 more to go. I have been to all UN countries of Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia including Middle East. My missing countries are 2 nations in the Pacific (Palau, Federated States of Micronesia).
United Nations Extended (UN+) :
NomadMania lists 266 ‘UN+ countries’ (for exemple French Polynesia, Transnistria, Tristan da Cunha … are added to the UN list). I have visited 252 among them. I have therefore still 14 to go.
TCC, MTP, NomadMania divisions :
According to TCC, the land area on Earth is divided into 329 parts. I have been to 301 regions (Diamond status) and have 29 (9%) remaining.
According to MTP, the land area on Earth is divided into 1500 parts. I have been to 989 regions and have 511 (34%) remaining. I currently rank # 40 worldwide on MTP (# 2 of travelers from France, # 31 of travelers of my age or under).
According to NomadMania, the land area on Earth is divided into 1301 parts. I have been to 925 regions and have 376 (27%) remaining. I rank # 40 worldwide on Nomad Mania (# 2 of travelers from France, # 27 of travelers of my age or under).
Most detailed geographic divisions (CHAD & SISO) :
According to the more detailed geographical breakdown of the SISO (International Standard Organization) list with 3978 regions, I went to 2254 regions among them (# 4 worldwide).
The CHAD list (Country Hybrid Administrative Divisions) includes all the administrative divisions of each country and is therefore the most detailed breakdown of the world with 4142 entities. With 2457 entities reached, I rank # 3 worldwide.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites & detailed series :
UNESCO lists 1199 World Heritage Sites (WHS). Up to now, I have visited 785 WHS. I still miss 414 WHS. I rank # 16 worldwide on NomadMania.
NomadMania has developed quite interesting detailed series of travel objectives such as islands, geographically remote places, museums, castles, botanical gardens, indigenous peoples, treks ... Although it could be sometimes somehow a bit controversial, it is a good indicator of how 'deep' a traveler really travels. According to this indicator, I rank globally # 1 for all series ranking : # 1 for the remote places serie, # 1 for the 'Outdoors' series (national parks, treks, hikes ...), # 2 for the 'Treks' serie, # 2 for the 'Intellectual' series (museums, castles, vestiges of the past, modern architecture buildings ...), # 2 for the festivals serie. As for 'Remote Places' (the 'DARE' list) I rank # 6,
