SISO : Shea's ISO (International Standard Organization), siso.jeffshea.info.
Furthermore, for the Travelers' Century Club, I am the Area Coordinator in charge of the Francophone Chapter.
Up to now, I have visited 189 UN Member Countries (UN has 193 Member Countries ; plus 4 Non-member Countries : Palestine, Vatican, Niue & Cook Islands). I have still 4 more to go. I visited all UN countries of Europe, the Americas and Asia including Middle East. My missing countries are 4 nations in Africa and the Pacific (Equatorial Guinea, République du Congo, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia).
Nomad Mania lists 266 ‘UN+ countries’ (for exemple French Polynesia, Transnistria, Tristan da Cunha … are added to the UN list). I have visited 246 among them. I have therefore still 20 to go.
According to MTP, the land area on Earth is divided into 949 parts. I have been to 609 regions and have 340 (36%) remaining. I currently rank # 70 worldwide on MTP (# 2 of travelers from France, # 35 of travelers of my age or under). According to Nomad Mania, the land area on Earth is divided into 1301 parts. I have been to 879 regions and have 422 (32%) remaining. I rank # 38 worldwide on Nomad Mania (# 2 of travelers from France, # 25 of travelers of my age or under). According to TCC, the land area on Earth is divided into 329 parts. I have been to 293 regions and have 36 (11%) remaining. According to the more detailed geographical breakdown of the SISO list with 3978 regions, I went to 2194 among them (# 2 worldwide).
In the CHAD list (Country Hybrid Administrative Divisions), Nomadmania developed an even more detailed breakdown with 4144 regions. With 2371 reached, I rank # 1 worldwide.
Up to now, I have visited 716 World Heritage Sites (WHS). The UNESCO lists 1121 WHS ; I still miss 405 WHS. I rank # 10 worldwide for WHS visited on MTP and # 12 on Nomad Mania.
Nomadmania has developed detailed series of travel objectives such as islands, geographically remote places, museums, castles, botanical gardens, indigenous peoples, treks ... Although it could be sometimes somehow a bit controversial, it is a good indicator of how 'deep' a traveler really travels. According to this indicator, I rank globally # 2 for the general series ranking : # 1 for the remote places serie, # 1 for the 'Outdoors' series (national parks, treks, hikes ...), # 2 for the 'Intellectual' series, # 2 for the festivals serie.
Up to now :
